The World Peace Rose Garden, created in 2003 by the nonprofit World Peace Rose Gardens, is meant to promote harmony and cooperation. The garden has over 650 roses in different varieties. Some of the roses have names to remind visitors of the garden’s intention, like the Lasting Peace Rose and Pink Peace.

The garden also has a special section of roses dedicated to veterans. Some types of roses are dedicated to famous people, including César Chávez and John F. Kennedy. Sylvia Villalobos, one of the founders of the World Peace Rose Garden, described it as “a living reminder that peace begins within the hearts of each one of us – in our thoughts, in our words and in our actions. Daily each one of us has an opportunity to make our world a better place.”
